    I really wish these were available 4 years ago. I bought the original AXEO performance cartridges which are definitely so much better than stock but I wasn’t thrilled with the stiffness on bumps in the road. I have Revo A shocks and was thinking about going to Revo Arch until AXEO Comfort came out. I purchased them and installed them last week end and I absolutely love them. My first test ride I intensionally ran over every manhole I could find and it is so much smoother. Anyone interested in a slightly used set of the originals? 😀

    Hello, my 2019 Sport glide preload is set to min (0). The ride is harsh for solo rider but quite OK while riding with passenger. I conclude that the spring rate is too high for my weight. Would Legend offer softer spring with its 13.5" shock? Thx.

    So basically there is no risk to set the Revo A at “1” and not having rebound at all? Some people were saying to me it works like pogo stick then and feels like there is no rebound or broken shock. I don’t believe that, because I personally set it at “1” and really, really like the ride. I’m wondering how would you rate the stock touring front fork is set in your terms of rebound setting? Thank you for amazing product!

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions 13 днів тому

      Hello, Good questions, when the suspension sag is set correctly for your weight range you are telling the shocks to use all of its travel and prevent bottoming out. Some road conditions or areas may require someone to run less than 1" of suspension sag as bigger bumps may need to be tuned out compared to someone who lives in an area like Florida where the roads are flat and smooth. Once this is set the rebound preference is the rider's choice depending on how they want the bike to ride. setting 1 on the rebound might not be ideal for everyone as the lower the rebound setting the faster the shock will rebound, so if you live in a very bumpy area and hit bumps constantly, then your rebound is fast it can accentuate the bumps, and give a bouncy ride and you may want to run a higher number (slower rebound) to tune this feel out. On the flip side if your weight range requires a lot of preload to reach your sag range this will cause more stored spring tension during compression and the slower rebound is required more often, otherwise you get a tight spring with a lot of tension and the fast rebound and you could end up with a bouncy ride as well. It is important to ride all the settings and see how they all work for the rider. In the end, if you enjoy the ride and it feels the best to you, then setting 1 is just fine as long as you are happy and it is not causing you issues. On your second question as to a comparison guess on factory front suspension rebound. OEM front suspension is super soft on compression and tends to blow right through bumps and the rebound is super fast as well. If setting 1 on the back of our shock was a 1 TO 1 meaning as fast as it compresses it rebounds at that same speed, call it equal or opposite reaction, stock OE front suspension would be like setting .50 about half of setting 1 in our opinion.

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions 27 днів тому

      Hello, while chrome is slick looking, we have gotten away from chrome finishes on shocks as they just do not hold up so well over time and with the shocks coming with a lifetime warranty, they just degrade too much over time. We discontinued chrome on AIR shocks over 5 years ago due to this as well as chroming needing to be sent out of state and slowing production times. It is slick, but a total hassle unfortunately.

    This video is 3 years old. What happened to the monoshock for softail? I have a 2018 FLSL, and I weigh 270 and ride solo 80% of the time. P.S. working on my weight.

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions 28 днів тому

      Hey there, we currently have several mono shock Softail options. 12.5" 13" and 13.5" models all in standard or heavy-duty spring rates. Standard spring rates are normally good to 350lbs, but we often recommend HD spring rate for spirited riding, any 2-up riding or if you carry extra weight so you do not have to add as much preload. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to email service@legendsuspensions.com and we would be happy to help.

    Great video I just put a set of these Revo A’s on my 2019 Street glide. It helps a lot to understand adjustments. I do have one question though. In the instruction manual It says to torque hardware to 50 ft lbs. I’ve had people tell me to do Harley torque spec 63-70 ft lbs. which is best torque value for these shocks?

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions 28 днів тому

      Thank you for your business. Great question. Stock Spec is 63-70 however, that is with stock solid mounted shocks that have bushings. Our shocks use spherical bearings at the mount points, and we include a billet aluminum spacer, we call out 50lbft of torque because if you torque them too tight you will press the inner race of the metal bearing into the spacer and cause it to dish and this can lock the shocks in place which is bad, you want our shocks to still pivot on the bearings after you install them, so they can move freely and prevent suspension binds cause by rigid mounted shocks. If you have any additional questions about this, please feel free to email service@legendsuspensions.com and we would be more than happy to help.

    For the 08 roadster you recommended doing the 2" over cartridges with the 14" rear shocks. Do you sell the longer fork tubes needed? What do you recommend and will fork tube extensions work?

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions Місяць тому

      Hey there- On the '08 Roadster you would only want to use Axeo Kit 0414-0547 39mm TS kit. This will require 26.25" fork tubes. We do not offer those tubes on our website but there are many fork tube brands who do offer them. CCE, Pro1 few others. The Axeo top cap screws into the top of the tube so you cannot use fork tube extension with our Axeo kits. Air-shocks are the KEY to setting-up a TRI-GLIDE & its poor suspension & handling issues, and will replace these plates from LEGENDS. But, you must be willing to pay close attention to the PSI in your system as you ride to keep it at the best performance & safe level. At any rate, the BEST rear suspension is a set of quality coil-overs for the rear of any HD touring scooter. HANDS DOWN !

    How are able to change transmission fluid after installing these shocks, there is no room to get an allen wrench in between the shocks?

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions Місяць тому

      good question, one shock can be removed to access it. OR you can install a plug that is threaded in the middle and install a nipple with a hose and plug this way when you need to change fluid you can just grab the hose, remove the plug and drain it that way without removing anything. Very simple to build.

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions Місяць тому

      Hello, Yes, you can, but you would have pretty firm shocks, people do ride with them pumped up quite a bit if they are going to ride more aggressive and they are looking to get some extra height out of the bike or just want a good firm ride for hitting corners. Nice thing is as soon as you are done, you just release some air quick, and you are back to your normal riding.

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions Місяць тому

      Hello, For the most accurate setting of sag, we do recommend you both be on the bike with whatever gear you tend to ride with and in your normal riding gear. This will give an accurate weight to go off. From the normal 13" length you want the shocks to measure right about 12-1/4" to 12" with you both on the bike stated above. This will tell the suspension how much weight you added and to use all the travel and keep you from bottoming out. From there you simply select a rebound setting you like most (we recommend trying them all) and boom you're good to go. If you do not know where to start with rebound, we recommend starting with setting (3) on both shocks. Then go straight to (6) and then straight to (1) this will show you what is actually changing and will help you in selecting what ride you like best. IF you have ANY questions at all we recommend emailing service@legendsuspensions.com and our techs can help. We agree, 2Lane and the Ornery Crew are all Aces!

    I don’t ever ride 2 up, I just want the ability to lower a bit, and when I’m riding, I want it to be like I’m on a cloud when I’m on the interstate. My worry about getting a Legend air suspension is that it would be too soft and affect performance when I’m going harder on the bike. I just have no experience in this area. I welcome feedback as to whether you guys recommend coil or air for my situation. ( bike is a 2021 Harley Fat Bob)

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions Місяць тому

      Hello- Great question and understandable concern, we can assure you that from the most casual riding to the most aggressive riding the AIR suspension will go softer than you want and absolutely rock-hard firmer than you'd want and in somewhere in the middle you will find your happy medium. That is the beauty of AIR suspension, you get low when you need, you get soft when you need, you get firm when you need, and it's all done with the simple push of a button on the fly while riding. If you have the need or desire to be able to lower the bike, even temporarily, the AIR suspension is the best route. To adjust on the fly from soft and firm.

    At a cursory glance, dyna and sportster suspensions appear similar. Do you also recommend heavy duty spring rates for sportster?

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions Місяць тому

      Great question, generally we do not recommend the HD spring on Sportster as often. The shock geometry on the Dyna is far more drastic and creates more leverage to compress the shocks. The Sportster is a good bit more upright and does not suffer the same leverage ratio. On a Sportster, unless you are riding 2-up often like 50% of the time or more or are regularly in the 275-300lbs range then the standard spring would be the way to go on Sportster. ESPECIALLY if you are looking at 12" shocks as those springs have an additional 1" of preload on them from the start since the 12" and 13" springs are the same. We hope this helps and if you need further assistance, please feel free to use our live chat on our website, or email service@legendsuspensions.com or you can always check in with a local motorcycle shop in your area. Thank you.

    I’m thinking of doing my suspension on my 21 fat bob. I just want the ability to make it super soft (like riding on a cloud) for highway driving and then have it be super tight for days I want to play more on the gas. Is 5hat a thing with the air suspension systems or am I misunderstanding?

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions Місяць тому

      Hey there, What you are wanting is the exact natural biproduct of what Legend Suspensions offers. On the Axeo you have oil and nitrogen in the cartridge system, with a piston in the middle and they handle different aspects of your riding. the more you cruise the more if will give you comfortable casual, as soon as you get more aggressive the piston moves and the force being applied firms up your ride based on the input it is receiving. Think automatic transmission for suspension. The rear suspension works just the same. Coil or AIR ride will both give you this. When you set the suspension sag it is telling the shocks how much you weigh and to use all the travel without bottoming out. Then the rebound controls how fast or slow the shock extends after hitting a bump. This is perceived as soft to firm. But the sag setting is going to allow you to cruise in comfort and then get aggressive and it will instantly react based on the input you give and the velocity of the compression and shaft movement. We hope this answers your questions and please feel free to reach out of you have any other questions. service@legendsuspensions.com or we have a live chat Monday- Thursday Thank you.

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions Місяць тому

      You can run 12" or 13" on the new Street Glide, it really comes down to preference. 12" shocks sit at 11-1/2" with 2" of travel 13" shocks sit at 12" with 3" of travel. So, seat height is about 1/2" difference and you gain 1" on the 13", that is why we tend to recommend the 13" for the extra travel.

    How do I decide to get the shocks with reservoirs or without?

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions 2 місяці тому

      That is a great question. A lot of it will boil down to personal preference. The main things the Revo-ARC will offer over the Revo-A are. 13" Revo-A has 3" of travel where the 13" Revo-ARC will have 3.5" so you get additional travel and, on a bike, where you do not get a lot of travel to begin with, anytime you can add it, it does help. The Revo-A will have a 6-position rebound adjuster. Revo-ARC will have 7. Revo-ARC will also have 7 positions of compression adjustment. Those additional ARC features really allow you a larger range of adjustment and to be a bit pickier when it comes to the settings you like. The Revo or Revo-A will 9 times out of 10 be absolutely all you need and will far outperform your expectations. The Revo-ARC, if you like the looks, like the additional adjustment, or feel you are a bit picky with how you want your bike to ride. We hope this answers your questions, if you need additional help, please feel free to email service@legendsuspensions.com with any questions or check in with your local shop as they might have both in stock for you to look at and give you some other customer feedback.

    I have a 2017 Freewheeler. If people are going to get a lift from a 13" shock with a new bracket, can't they just go with a 14" shock to begin with ?

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions 2 місяці тому

      Great question, the answer is generally not because. The 14" shocks cause fitment Issues with swing arms contacting the exhaust. on 09-16 Trikes and Freewheelers you can run 13" shocks and 1-1/4" lift brackets on the Twin Cam machines. in 2017 with the M8 the exhaust and other changes shifted chassis items back a bit and the 13" and 1-1/4" brackets created an issue so we now offer a new bracket that raises the bike 5/8" and then you can add 13" shocks. Or you can purchase just 13.6" shocks which do the same thing. There are options so that depending on the stage of your upgrades you have something else to add. If you have nothing at all on a 17+ then we suggest 13.6" as that is most cost effective. If you have just the new 5/8" bracket you can pick up 13" shocks or just 13" shocks you can add the bracket. That way you don't have to scrap something to get something else. We hope this answers your questions, and please feel free to email service@legendsuspensions.com if you need any further details, we would be more than happy to help.

      @@LegendSuspensions Thank you very much. that's just the information that I need. I was just looking at your website. I see 3 that would apply. I'm on a fixed income so right off the bat, the $1K option is out. The other 2 appear identical. Can you comment on that, please? This will be my first trike install and it looks pretty straightforward except maybe measuring the sag. Sounds like I would have to remove the body for that ? Thanks, Bill.

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions 2 місяці тому

      Bill, Sure thing. Off the bat the 13.6" Standard Revo would be the recommendation for the best bang and least out of pocket. There is essentially no need to get a 13" Revo and then add a bracket at additional cost, when someone can purchase the 13.6" Revo with the bracket length built in. The variation of options is only for if someone already had one or the other, so they do not have to scrap something to get the same thing. The difference between Revo and Revo-A is a 6-position rebound adjuster that changes the speed in which the shock extends after hitting a bump. The most common and most popular setting is setting 3. The Standard Revo without the dial is always on setting 3. Also, with having a freewheeler most of the time people do not want to take a knee or reach under the machine to adjust the dial later, making the "fixed" Revo a perfect option to be honest. Think of the Standard Revo not as a "downgraded model" but that setting 3 is so popular that we have an entire product line dedicated to it. All other built parameters are the same and no quality is skimped. In terms of suspension sag, it does make it easier to set the suspension sag if you expose the shocks and remove the trunk, however, we do have a video on how to set the suspension sag with removal of the wheels and a small pancake lift and a block of wood.

    Just a rider testimony, here: I have been running the Revo A's on a 2012 FLTRU since they were 1st introduced at Sturgis, years ago, & I LOVE them. Combined with "Race-Tec" cartridge emulators up front, no problem with 2-up, solo, & scrapping floorboards keeping up with BMW GS1200, or a Honda VFR 800 in the twisties of the "Rockies" they are truly AWESOME shock absorbers.

      @@LegendSuspensions on my 2019 SGS, I rode with the stock shocks for a year and they were horrible. When I bought this bike, Harley and my dealer said it had 3” of travel up from 1 1/2, so I didn’t have them install them before I picked up the bike. I did about $15,000.00 in upgrades and I thought I had done everything I needed to. After 200 miles, I knew I wouldn’t be happy so I brought it back in for the rears. I’m my ride to the dealer, I decided to upgrade the cam and do the AEXO’s in the front. I think I have mental issues, but the bike will now be complete. After this video, I watched a few more. Thank you for the great content, I learned a lot.

    I misunderstood can I run 14" on a 2014 streetglide?

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions 3 місяці тому

      On the Street Glide 14" shocks will fit as long as you have an exhaust shorter than the rear axle, otherwise the axle nut will hit the exhaust before you can get your mounting points 14" apart to install the shocks, and then at full extension the axle nut would contact the mufflers before getting full travel. As well, with this tall of a rear shock we recommend running the Axeo 2+ taller front suspension otherwise you will be taller in the back than in the front and this will reduce rake angle and can make the bike very responsive but can be unstable at speed. Some might even say twitchy. 14" is designed to work with 2+ 13" works best with Standard height. 12" works best with Standard height or -1" kit. Are lift kits as important for a trike kit?

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions 3 місяці тому

      It depends on the route you go during upgrades and what year of the trike. for 17+ Trikes we offer a Lift Kit and that can be a solo upgrade, you would then want either 13" Coil or AIR shocks. Or if you had 13" shocks you'd want just the lift kit. If you did not have any suspension upgrades then we make a 13.6" coil or AIR shock that essentially has the lift built in on those 17+ trikes. If you have a 09-16 Trike, then the 09-16 Trike Lift and 13" shocks are the way to go. You can lift 09-16 Trikes a little higher than 17+ due to clearance issues on the 17+. They are important in making the Trike ride better and handle better all around not matter which trike you have. We hope this answers your questions, if you have additional questions please feel free to email us at service@legendsuspensions.com and we would be happy to cover in further detail with you. Thank you.

      My trike kit is on a 1999 road king. It was installed by motor trike and does have air suspension as well as reverse. It seems to have been done with care and done to a high standard. Personally I'm satisfied with it and it's suspension. However, it's the 1st trike I've ridden and have my hands full making the adjustments. However, since I don't know good from bad I was wondering if it needs to have the suspension upgrade

    • @LegendSuspensions
      @LegendSuspensions 3 місяці тому

      That is a tough call, it sounds like you have the Motor Trike Gladiator kit. They do not call out a specific suspension length on their site. It does unfortunately fall outside of our fitment range, as we only offer back to 2009 which is when Harley introduced the first official Tri-Glide models. Before that, they were conversions such as yours. They do appear to use somewhat stock mounting configurations but as for length it is not stated. There is a good chance aftermarket suspension would work but this would be a run at your own risk application as we do not offer a turnkey option for you. Depending on the age of the kit, suspension does need to be replaced after time, or at the very least rebuilt, so your ride could eventually deteriorate to a point where the shocks need to be replaced. Technology has come a long way so there might be some substantial upgrades on the market depending on the exact shocks you have on there now. We would recommend connecting with Motor Trike and ask them about your model to see if they offer a better suspension than what you currently have, or if they have a list of approved fitments, they know work.

      Great question! let's talk about that. Legend Suspensions - Air vs Coil We often receive the question, "Should I go with air shocks or coil?" Although this decision ultimately is up to the customer, there are those out there who may be better suited to use one product line or the other based on a variety of factors. Both air ride and coil shocks have their advantages and disadvantages, however, at the end of the day, choosing the right shock (air or coil) is going to ensure you are getting the best ride experience expected from a quality-made suspension product. To begin, let's discuss Air Ride. A common misconception is that air ride isn't meant to improve ride quality and is primarily designed to increase the cosmetic appeal of "Cool Factor". Although with some products out there this is true, we take great pride in offering a product that can achieve both. We designed our air ride with the goal, first and foremost, to handle heavy loads, increase ease of adjustment, and improve the ride quality of our customers' experience. Our air ride still offers, the ability to drop the seat height significantly lower than stock for that lowered look while parked, however, the shocks are designed to be ridden and inflated with air pressure to achieve the stock ride height. This leads us to the first benefit of Air Ride that can be experienced, which is the ease of adjustment. Our air ride kits come with an onboard compressor/solenoid assembly, along with handlebar-mounted control to allow the rider to make "on-the-fly" air pressure adjustments while riding. This "on-the-fly" adjustability is a great solution for our shorter customers who may need to lower their seat height to make it easier to maneuver their motorcycle while parking, stopping at stop signs, etc. The rider can then air the system back up on the go to achieve a comfortable ride and still have adequate suspension travel. Another situation where air ride can benefit some customers more than coil is the ease of adjustment offered when changing riding configurations. Customers who are always changing configuration between one-up, two-up, and/or loaded down with baggage, may prefer the air ride to a coil as adjusting preload is as simple as pressing the button on the handlebar control to increase or decrease air pressure to stiffen or soften the shocks to account for the added weight on the bike. This eliminates the need to constantly turn springs on a coil shock to account for different riding configurations. Now, let's talk about coil suspension. For most customers, a coil shock ends up being the preferred suspension option due to a generally lower price point, along with the simplicity, and ease of use. Our coil shocks come in a variety of lengths (12", 13", and 14" on select models). The different length options offered, allow our customers to maintain or increase their suspension travel, while greatly improving their ride quality and performance aspects in regard to suspension. Although the air ride products we offer make it extremely easy to adjust preload for different weight configurations on the bike, our coil shocks are a close second as far as ease of adjustment goes. The coil shocks we offer don't require any spanner wrenches or special tools to turn the coil springs when adjusting preload but can be turned by hand just by grabbing the spring and twisting. Another great benefit of our coil products is the adjustment options our top-tier coil products offer. With our REVO ARC models, there are additional rebound and compression adjustments in the form of dials with 7 different adjustment settings for each to allow the rider to really fine-tune their ride quality for different riding styles and configurations and enhance the performance of the shocks. Please let us know if you have any additional questions. by emailing us directly at Service@legendsuspensions.com and we would be more than happy to work with you and your setup to ensure you are getting the perfect shocks for your riding style and setup.

      It will absolutely correct this for you. Once you install that front end your rear suspension will be much happier because everything will be valved the same way, and your bike will ride and handle in much better unison and handle bumps correctly. Right now, your front suspension may be too soft and then bumps push through it and send that the rear suspension, those handle bumps differently and some of that is sent back to the front and since the front is too soft you just get a back-and-forth motion that makes you feel one bump more than once. Thank you for your business, and if you need any further assistance, please feel free to reach out to service@legendsuspensions.com and our techs would be happy to discuss any further details.
